Abstract: I will present our recent results on the QCD phase structure at both zero and nonzero baryon number density. At zero baryon density I will discuss the dependence of the nature of the phase transition on the values of quark masses and the number of flavors, while at nonzero baryon chemical potential I will present results on the QCD equation of state using Taylor expansions that include contributions from up to sixth order in the baryon, strangeness and electric charge chemical potentials, and discuss the possible location of the QCD critical end point in the T-mu phase diagram.
