Abstract:
High-precision theoretical predictions for the dynamics of compact binarysystems are crucial for maximizing the scientific potential of current and futuregravitational-wave observatories, including LIGO-Virgo-KAGR A, Taiji, TianQin,and the Einstein Telescope. Modern quantum field theory (QFT) methods-particularly effective field theory and multi-loop techniques-have emerged aspowerful tools for addressing the classical gravitational two-body problemanalytically. This talk will review recent developments in these methods and discusstheir applications to the computation of gravitational two-body dynamics within thepost-Minkowskian expansion.
